-
Description
-
A staged black and white photo of young girls dressed in their best clothes sitting and standing around a young woman who is wearing a crown and fur trimmed cape, holding a bouquet.
In the 1920s the Sorell Football Club was one of a number of clubs (including the Sorell Tennis Club where the Phillips girls were friendly with Fay Fenner and Lois Ruddoch), which held fundraisers. The club that raised the most amount of money took the prize, and its representatives were crowned. This photo represents an occasion on which the Sorell Football Club (its colours yellow) won the prize.
